I’ve lost count of the amount of times someones opened the central file directly and cannot sync back to central. I’ve done it myself in very early morning sessions (I don’t work late, I work early). The habit I got myself into, was to open the file (always through the correct way), and the first thing I do when it opens, is sync and compress the file to central. This way I know for a fact that the file is good, and as small as it can be to start the day.
