LEAP Design Competition 2017

For the past week local PNW high school FIRST Robotics teams have been designing and entry for a new vision for OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science & Industry) and the turbine room to attract and educate youth in STEM.The competition is named LEAP for Linking Engineering and Philanthropy as a way for FIRST Robotics teams to do more than just robots.The winning teams won prize money from Autodesk to apply to their upcoming FIRST Robotics FRC competition season. The LEAP competition was developed and organized by Team 1540 Flaming Chickens of Catlin Gabel and hosted by OMSI.

Five teams presented last evening to a judge panel made up of Autodesk employees Andy Sears and Patti Vrobel, OMSI employees, and an architect. The judge panel asked many good questions of the teams and then determined the wining teams.

1st place Shockwave 4488 won $4000
