Going Deep with BIM: AU Speaker Jon Servedio Talks with Redshift about the Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel Project

Drilling a tunnel under the Chesapeake Bay using a machine the length of a football field? It’s just another day on the job for AU speaker Jon Servedio. As a senior specialist in BIM at Mott MacDonald, he’s part of the team planning the $756 million  Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel Project, which involves adding a new 2-lane tunnel to an existing passage—without disrupting traffic. Construction is due to begin later this year.

 

 

Jon spoke at AU 2017 about his experience with the project and shared his insights on how to put together a BIM execution plan for an infrastructure project of this size and scope.
