I am an Autodesk employee today because I interviewed with Carl Bass in June 1990 to work for Ithaca Software on his HOOPS (Hierarchical Object-Oriented Picture System) platform-independent 3D graphics software package. After Ithaca Software was acquired by Autodesk in 1993, responsibility for HOOPS shifted to Tech Soft 3D. When Laura and Ron held coming-of-age events for each of their three children when they were 13 years old, people enthusiastically responded to our efforts to create a rite of passage to mark the beginning of their transition from childhood to adulthood.
