How BIM was employed in San Francisco mega project to improve collaboration

A large-scale development project is going to be developed in Transbay area as part of a rezoning plan to support more density in the transport hub.

The project comprises of a 605-foot residential tower and a 910-foot hotel, condo and office tower — designers at London-based architectural firm Foster + Partners have settled to make a transition from 2D, CAD-based software to Autodesk’s 3D BIM Revit software.

It facilitates the architects to coordinate all design decisions which are undertaken through the software interface in a centralized location.

By employing the cloud-based Revit platform, project stakeholders will be able to avail the most updated information about the project and wide-ranging 3D visuals from any remote location, to allow evaluation of quality and make improved design details at the initial stage of the project life cycle.

BIM simplified the process for exchanging real-time feedback during the modeling process in coordinating the typical and complex…
