This video goes through the process of creating Revit Wall Assemblies from Scratch, Explaining the Revit Layer Function Priorities, Assigning the desired Wraps to the Materials as well as Wrap conditions for the wall to follow at inserts and ends.

Further to this, the tutorial covers how to resolve layer returns at inserts that do not extend to the desired width and how Window and Door families are created to allow users to manually override the layer return values at inserted elements.
