New Plug-In Brings Better Visualization to Vectorworks

It’s no secret that the cloud has dramatically changed how we collaborate and share files, whether it’s using Google Docs to share documents across teams around the world or using an online storage service such as Dropbox to keep files organized. Now, architects and designers who turn to Vectorworks for their design software will be able to use their browser as a 3D presentation and collaboration tool thanks to a new plug-in.

Announced earlier this week, the plug-in from the global design and building information modeling (BIM) software developer is the result of a partnership with Modelo, a 3D collaboration platform founded by an architect and an industrial designer with the shared goal of making collaboration and presentations easier for creative teams.

The plug-in works seamlessly with existing 3D Vectorworks files (VWX) and allows professionals to present and share their 3D files with clients, colleagues and consultants with the use of a viewer, negating the need to install Vectorworks software. Viewers will also be able to leave feedback on the files with markups.

“It’s fitting that we wanted to work closely with the Vectorworks team because of our aligned philosophies with developing tools to support the design process,” said Qi Su, president and co-founder of Modelo. “From the beginning, our mission at…
