Auto Number Views Per NCS

Revit automatically numbers any view that is place on a sheet; 1,2,3,4. These numbers are based on the order they are placed on a view. To follow the National CAD Standard(NCS) we then always have to renumber the view. NCS says that the view number is base upon it’s grid location on the Sheet, A1, C4.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Revit could actually number the view based on it’s grid location? Well one of the Dynamo gurus at SMPC Architects (Stuart Knight-Williamson) created a Dynamo script that does just that. The title block needs a couple more parameters, but using Dynamo player all you have to do is go to each sheet and play the script and the views get renumbered based on their NCS grid location.
