Autodesk Revit: Importing and Linking CAD files

Just because you’ve seen the light and adopted BIM as a way of working, it most certainly doesn’t meant that you’ll never have to work with DWG or DXF files ever again. On the contrary, there are many scenarios where it is highly beneficial to work with CAD files inside of your Revit Project. For example, you may wish to use a site (or building) survey as a 2D (or 3D) template for creating your Revit model. Or you may wish to use existing standard details from a library that you’ve built up using CAD.

In this video tutorial, I show you how to work with CAD files inside a Revit Project. I explain the differences between Importing and Linking; as well as explaining the things to consider at the time you bring these files into your project.
