Revit Tutorial – Customizing area types

When the built-in rules do not fulfill your needs, you can ignore them; however, doing so means also ignoring the built-in area type property. This property is very useful in grouping schedules, controlling adjacencies and color coding plans. The solution to this is to create a custom property to meet these needs instead. This is easy to do and allows you complete control over your area schemes in cases where the rules don’t apply.
