Egress Hatch Fusion 360 Drawing

The Apollo 11 Command Module CM-107 Columbia Egress hatch in Autodesk Fusion 360. They will assemble a replica made from machined and 3D printed parts next week at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum with Adam Savage. Using high resolution 3D scans of the hatch captured inside the National Air and Space Museum by Autodesk and the Smithsonian Digitization Program Office, engineering student Andrew Barth was able to reverse engineer and CAD model the functioning components that make up the various intricate mechanics of the hatch using Autodesk Fusion 360 (free for students and hobbyist). By importing the scan model for the hatch, produced by the Smithsonian Digitization Program Office, he was able to directly measure features and components in order to create accurately-sized parts.
