If you are on my side of the equator, in the Northern hemisphere, you are no doubt in the middle of summer. And chances are if you are on the west coast of the U.S., a hot one due to a high pressure induced “heat dome”.
In the Pacific Northwest of the U.S., where I live, it has been hit with unprecedented heat and shattering records up to 119 degrees F or 48 degrees C. The Pacific Northwest is known for being temperate with lots of forests, fog, rain and not known to be temperatures hotter than most extreme global desert climates and that causes a lot of damage to roads, infrastructure, the forest with wildfires, and sadly several lost directly due to the heat. I am now on my 10th straight day of over 100 degrees in the NE Oregon, near Walla Walla Washington, and expecting more and learning to deal with this heat wave playing in the water and finding cooler spots in the outdoors.
